  • Department of Health

    The Department of Health’s Children and Young People's Public Health Unit works cross Government to improve the health and wellbeing of 5 -19+ young people. Currently the programmes cross cutting the unit are Healthy Schools, Healthy FE and the You're Welcome Youth Friendly Health Services programme. We are currently leading on the recently launched Healthy Child Programme 5-19 looking to support local Commissioners in commissioning evidence based services and prevention for the stated age range.

  • Higher Education Academy

    The Higher Education Academy supports the sector in providing the best possible learning experience for all students. It does this by: — providing national leadership in developing and disseminating evidence-informed practice about enhancing the student learning experience; — operating as an independent broker, enabling expertise to be shared across institutions and subject areas; — working at multiple levels, with individual academics, subject communities, departments, faculties and institutions; — working across all parts of the UK, recognising the distinctive policy contexts and priorities of the devolved administrations but also providing opportunities to share expertise among them.

  • Higher Education Funding Council

    The Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE) distributes public money for teaching and research to universities and colleges. In doing so, it aims to promote high quality education and research, within a financially healthy sector. The Council also plays a key role in ensuring accountability and promoting good practice.

  • Improving performance through wellbeing and engagement

    This HEFCE-funded project www.wellbeing.ac.uk focused on staff performance, engagement and wellbeing – and finished in 2011. The legacy of the project has been handed over to the Universities and Colleges Employers Association (UCEA), which will take forward the work.     UCEA is a membership organisation representing HE institutions in the UK as employers. It provides advice and guidance on employment matters relevant to the HE sector and supports effective employment relations, practice and reward strategies within its member HE providers. It also works to provide opportunities for members to develop their engagement and wellbeing practices.
